Nakuru is a city, a county, a national park, and a lake. The lake is traditionally a popular destination for bird lovers famed for millions of flamingos and other water birds. It was once described as “the biggest ornithological site on earth.”

Nakuru is the perfect base for Rift Valley tours and excursions. The national park is a leading black and white rhino sanctuary, and hosts hundreds of plains game especially buffalo, impala, zebra, and many antelopes. There is a sizeable population of the endangered Rothschild Giraffe.
